in 1969 i remember reading an article in the WJS about tire workers in Akron who were thinking of going on strike.
Good year told them to go ahead as they had a plant in Korea which would keep producing while they striked.
at the time the u.s. had many troops guarding the northern border while the S. Koreans used their own army to force people to work at bayonet point if necessary.
so the Akron tire workers taxes were being used to put them out of work.
